Nice to see people making an effort to make their home atmospheres better. You brought a great support up to Newcastle a few seasons ago for a mid week game. The stewards down at your place seem absolute c*nts though.

Anyway, we have a group at Newcastle. We're not really big on flags and displays, we set up with the same intentions as you lads: to have a standing/singing section. We started out with about 10 people standing up in the gods of St.James, and over a few seasons we progressed to around 1.5k standers. After years of asking for a singing section we finally got what we wanted this season. As a result we now have around 3k persistantly standing and singing at SJP, although we're still stuck up in the gods!

It just takes a few, more will follow. Just don't let your stewards give you grief. Our club actually hired bouncers from clubs in Newcastle this season, which ended up in a few fights and lots of complaints, and now they're gone.

Our section last season:

Hello lads Toonfans

Hello lads P1010113ju1

Hello lads Leazesl7

Safe standing march in protest of our club clamping down on standers:

Hello lads P1010101wc7

Hello lads P1010108yq0

Hello lads P1010109ct7

Our section now:
Hello lads NufcBolton15

Hello lads P8130206

Hello lads P8130207

Hello lads P8130199

Hello lads Tewn

Good luck with it lads!

Thanks for the support. Sounds as if it has been a real success up at ST James' and even partly emulating what you have achieved would be great. You mentioned starting out with 10.At the moment we have 25 with this being pushed up to around 40 by the game.Look out for us on T.V!

Yes, can I please echoe Ed's sentiments and that Newcastle for his support. It looks like your boys have made terrific progress in getting the atmosphere going at SJP, well done to you all!

Please stick around and see what the results from Good Friday are, I'm sure we'll all be pleased with our efforts!

im sorry but if we stand up all game there is a much ebtter chance of creating a better atmosphere instead of sitting on our hands to blarmy!

You should take a look at these forums:

To be fair if you seriously want to have a good singing section you have to be standing. Since the area you're moving to is unoccupied I see no problems with you encouraging people to stand. The only problems you should encounter will be from stewards. If they do give you grief you should organize mass protests, make banners, and tell your club to stop treating its own fans so badly!

All the best.

Top effort newcastle!

If the stewards in GU1 tell us to sit, whats the plan? In Y25 if told to sit, everyone does... although if everyone stayed standing they wouldn't chuck us all out!

In Y26 if they tell us to sit down someone starts up the chant "stand up, for steve coppell" - thats the way of stopping them...works for us..everyone else follows.

Quality work from Newky there. To emulate Newcastle though do we have to have a bare-shirted section Very Happy
How about a we make ours girls only? Sorry, couldnt resist that one...

I've always thought that Newcastle had
the best support in the country. The geordies
live eat and breath football.

I'm glad that other fans or fan has taken notice
of what were doing.

Passionate fans make more enjoyable games!!!

FFACT

I only our fans were like they were at Derby last
season every game

I'd certainly enjoy games a lot more!!!
