| Kettering Town v York CityThe Jorvik Reds have been getting a hard time recently from certain club board members, amongst other things being told they aren't the kind of supporters this club needs - they were told this at half-time of the Torquay away game, a 600+ mile round trip on a Thursday night. At the Kettering game on Saturday they decided to protest by wearing suits, and displaying a 'Suits Rule Football' banner at the game. Quote from another forum: - Quote :
- Well, what can i say...after all that tench in the past few weeks we arrive at the ground, move to a pub and are met by half for northamptonshire's police force. problem for them was, over 75% of our bus had turned up in suits and masks/balaclavas as part of a later display/protest...cue cops walking round the pub asking people if they are from york and if they have come on a bus. as we sit there, in our suits enjoying beers in teh sun, being the most peaceful we have ever been....up strolls mounted police and more vans...to be met with total confusion and some awkward attempts at fiming the ultras (who they couldn't find)
We march to the ground en masse, up the noise with banners, 2 sticks and flags all over the placxe..only to be met at the gates by even more coppers telling us that basically everything we were carrying was banned and were forced to hand it into the stewards. in the ground and display underway...banner, streamers, baby smokes et etc Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzmtqZWeBaAPhotos:

| Woking v York CityYork City v Cambridge United October 2008 This is the first game in which flags on sticks were banned at home, with full checks on the turnstiles and what not. The JR's response... | again that is qualtiy i mean Dan you have to agree i reckon we can achieve this especially if we all move to the north stand next season? but the thing that annoys me most about all this is that we are getting support from other fans of other football teams but not our own that really annoys me big time!!!
i mean example newcastle and JR04 have had the time to become a member on here and post this to support us and yet even our own wont this....ok ok i know we have got followers but there are some reading fc fans that think this idea is stiupid well to thos people i put my middle finger up and say.....
HELLO HELLO WE ARE THE BISCUIT BOYS HELLO HELLO WE ARE THE BISCUIT BOYS

| This just shows you don't need 2 be successful 2 have great fans.
JR are a perfect example of how fans were. The passion and the pride for their club (despite being in the conference)
We could have something as good as or better than this this this is realistic target!

| I think the massive flags make the the away fans think that the atmosphere will be good every time i see anfield with the big flags and the european stadiums i always know that the atmosphere will be real good i think we need to bring out more big flags to wave and all the scarves | |

| i agree with the standing and singing part, don't get me wrong, i think it's a decent idea! but the flair throwing, disruption of the game, is slightly of putting with the idea of an 'ultra' group'. | |
